Katrili Dance

Katrili Dance is a traditional dance from Minahasa, North Sulawesi, strongly influenced by European culture during the colonial era. It originated from social dances such as the quadrille, introduced by the Spanish and Dutch to the local community. Over time, the Minahasan people adapted the dance by adding local elements in movement, music, and cultural meaning. Katrili Dance became a symbol of social interaction, harmony, and elegance, and is often performed at weddings, celebrations, and welcoming ceremonies.
