Trikora Monument

The Trikora Monument in Lembeh Strait is located near Bitung City, North Sulawesi. It was built to commemorate the Trikora Operation (People’s Triple Command) declared by President Sukarno in 1961.
The Trikora campaign aimed to reclaim West Irian (West Papua) from Dutch control and integrate it into Indonesia. The monument stands as a symbol of national struggle and unity in defending Indonesia’s sovereignty.
