Linow Lake

Danau Linow is one of the most unique and breathtaking natural tourist destinations in Tomohon, located not far from Manado in North Sulawesi. The lake is famous for its fascinating natural phenomenon where the color of the water changes over time.
Under certain conditions, the lake water can appear blue, green, or even brownish, depending on the mineral content, sunlight reflection, and volcanic activity around the area. Lake Linow was formed through volcanic activity from the surrounding volcanoes, and in some parts of the lake visitors can see hot steam and smell sulfur rising from the water’s surface.
This phenomenon makes Lake Linow one of the most unique volcanic lakes in Indonesia. Besides its natural beauty, the place is also a favorite destination for visitors to relax, enjoy the scenery, and take photographs. Around the lake, there are cafés and seating areas where visitors can admire the panoramic view while enjoying a warm cup of coffee or tea.
With its green mountain backdrop, cool Tomohon air, and exotic lake scenery, Lake Linow is a truly attractive destination and a must-visit place when traveling in North Sulawesi.
