Why is Bunaken So Special?
Bunaken National Park is located in Manado Bay, North Sulawesi, covering an area of 89,065 hectares. This area is known as one of the highest centers of marine biodiversity in the world, with more than 390 species of coral and 90 species of fish identified.
Spectacular Coral Walls
One of Bunaken's main attractions is its dramatic vertical coral walls, some reaching depths of 25-50 meters. These walls are adorned with various types of soft and hard corals, and are home to green turtles, reef sharks, and various colorful tropical fish species.
Diving Tips in Bunaken
The best time to dive in Bunaken is between April and October when sea conditions are relatively calm and water visibility reaches 20-40 meters. Various local dive operators offer diving packages for both beginners and experienced divers.
